About me

My name is Vilde Dyrnes Ulriksen, and I am an illustrator, artist, photographer and writer based in Hamar, Norway. Born in 1994, I've had a passion for telling stories through drawings and words ever since I could hold a pencil. I bought my first DSLR camera when I was 14, and that started another creative adventure into the world of photography.

Over the years I have developed an experimental approach in my art and photography where light and texture get to play central roles. Inspired by wild nature and tales of everything strange, mysterious and unseen, I want to open portals to worlds beyond and within, allowing for reflection and wonder.

As an illustrator, I am particularly inspired by Scandinavian fairytale illustrators such as Kay Nielsen, John Bauer and Theodor Kittelsen. This gives my illustrations a nostalgic touch. Folklore and fantasy stories are close to my heart, and I particularly enjoy drawing mythological creatures, mystical landscapes and magical characters.

With a master's degree in marketing and eight years' work experience in digital marketing and communications, I know how to consider the target audience and visual branding when illustrating a project or taking photos for a client.

At the moment I am working on writing and illustrating my first novel, a dreamlike story for adults who want to reconnect with their inner child.
